Our wines feature single varietals and blends from our Red Mountain Vineyard in Washington all the way to our Estate Vineyard in Worley, Idaho. Our wines are crafted from the environment they’re grown within, espousing the best those places have to offer without forcing the land to produce more than it can support.
Elk Haven Winery and Vineyard is located along the coveted southwest slope of Red Mountain, which provides an ideal environment for powerful Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlots among several other varietals. The sandy loess soils provide a hearty nutrient mixture while high winds and low precipitation moderate temperature swings to ensure excess moisture isn’t left to overwhelm growth patterns.
Red Mountains idealic conditions for growth has been well known amongst the Washington Wine Community, and a prime motivator to expand Elk Haven’s portfolio.
Elk Haven Estate’s Single Tree Vineyard in Worley, Idaho is the source of the crisp refreshing varietals found in our 2021 Riesling and the Gewürztraminer / Grüner Veltliner blend. Our Bugling Bull Club Members receive exclusive invitations to visit our Estate Vineyard and Event Venue.
Single Tree was planted in 2018 with the intent of creating traditional “high-elevation” white wines more accustomed to cooler climates. The vineyard is located 30 miles south of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho at an elevation of 2,600 feet. Due to the location and soil conditions, no pesticides or fertilizer is necessary. Expert pruning, water, sun, and soil give these grapes their distinctive flavor.
